Welcome to Ashley Manor Nursery, where children from 9 months thrive in a safe, nurturing environment designed for exploration, learning, and play. Set in 42 acres of stunning parkland with an on-site farm, our idyllic rural location provides the perfect backdrop for your child’s early development.
Our beautifully crafted classrooms offer a range of engaging activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth, ensuring each child’s unique potential is nurtured from the outset.
Manor House Nursery (9 months- 2 years)
Our youngest children are based in our newly refurbished Georgian Manor House which has a range of beautifully designed classrooms where we offer a variety of activities to support children’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. Our Early Years Educators support the babies’ and toddlers’ natural curiosity by ensuring that the children have lots of scope for exploration and expression. With sensory play being an important part of early childhood development and crucial for brain development, we ensure that the children engage in daily activities to promote the use of their senses. The children have access to an Art Room, in which they are able to explore their senses, exploring a variety of sensory trays, as well as becoming budding artists on the art easels.
Kindergarten Building (2-3 years)
Our focus is to inspire children to have a lifelong passion for learning and exploration. The Kindergarten classrooms provide the children with a wide range of opportunities to engage in a variety of stimulating and educational activities. This part of the nursery has its own drama/music space, art room and large adventure playground.
Pre-School (3-4 years)
In Pre-School we work with our children to ensure that they adopt a passion for learning and develop their independence in preparation for Reception. Our Pre-School children enjoy a varied timetable which has an emphasis on language, literacy and mathematical development. The children use the whole school phonics programme with a focus on one letter each week. The teachers plan varied activities around this letter, from sensory trays to writing books.
We pride ourselves on creating a happy, welcoming, and engaging environment where your child will learn through hands on experiences. Children in Pre-School enjoy PE, music, outdoor learning sessions and ballet.
The Learning Journey
At Ashley Manor Nursery, we understand that education is just as important as care, which is why we seamlessly provide both. Our dynamic planning approach allows us to adapt to each child’s individual needs and interests, ensuring they remain fully engaged in their surroundings and the stimulating, play-based activities we offer.
We maintain a balanced approach, combining child-led play with adult-guided experiences, while encouraging children to explore and discover independently. Our flexible and enjoyable curriculum nurtures creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning in every child.
Environment
At the heart of our curriculum is creativity, which we believe plays a vital role in children’s development. Our learning spaces are thoughtfully designed with a range of open-ended resources, encouraging children to explore, investigate, and express themselves while working collaboratively with their peers.
Outdoor Opportunities
One of Ashley Manor’s greatest assets is our idyllic, rural location with the school stunningly located in 42 acres of parkland. Our children benefit from the sheer variety of exciting outdoor areas as well as the chance to connect with the natural world. Outdoor learning is one of the most important companions of children’s growth and development. Nursery children have regular access to our school farm, forest school area and extensive woodland.
Progression into Pre-Prep
All our nursery children are guaranteed automatic entry into our Reception class. Our Pre-School Teachers ensure a smooth transition into Reception, giving the children the confidence to be ‘Reception ready’ through a variety of activities that are a combination of structured and child-led activities which help children develop their skills and knowledge at their own pace.
The transition from Pre-School and Reception is seamless, thanks to the close nature in which the Pre-School and School work together. Our Pre-School classrooms are based within the School’s Pre-Prep department, giving the children the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the environment and using the shared spaces within Pre-Prep to partake in a variety of activities. The children spend time with the Reception teacher throughout the year, from reading sessions to numerous settling in sessions in the classroom, having many opportunities during the year to get to know the Pre-Prep Department.
