Year 5 is a pivotal year and as such, the academic expectations of the pupils rise. As they become more mature and independent, they are given more responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of many aspects of their learning. 11+ preparation is a key aspect of this academic focus and we work with parents to tailor learning that matches the aspirations and destinations of their child.  As well as a timetabled curriculum, pupils can attend a variety of 11+ clubs and extra-curricular activities.

Along with curriculum-led school trips throughout the year, including a STEM day at Silverstone Circuit, Year 5 pupils enjoy 5-day residential trip to Barton Hall in Devon during the Summer Term. Activities include climbing, orienteering, archery and canoeing.

Pupils complete Year 5 with the confidence and resilience required to tackle Year 6 and beyond.
