Year 5 is a pivotal year and as such, the academic expectations of the pupils rise. As they become more mature and independent, they are given more responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of many aspects of their learning. 11+ preparation is a key aspect of this academic focus and we work with parents to tailor learning that matches the aspirations and destinations of their child.  As well as timetabled curriculum, pupils can attend a variety of 11+ clubs and extra-curricular activities.

As well as curriculum- led school trips throughout the year, including a STEM day at Silverstone Circuit, the Year 5 pupils enjoy a week-long residential trip in the Summer Term. The activities in Pembrokeshire include coasteering, sea kayaking, lifesaving, climbing as well as a coastal hike.

Pupils complete Year 5 with the confidence and resilience required to tackle Year 6 and beyond.
