11+ Provision
Ashley Manor Prep offers a comprehensive, fully tailored 11+ preparation programme. Our approach includes regular assessments, targeted booster sessions in Maths, Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning, and exposure to 11+ style questions across all subjects. Students benefit from in-class activities, after-school clubs, and personalised feedback, ensuring they are fully supported in their preparation. We focus on building both knowledge and exam techniques, fostering a collaborative environment between home and school to give each child the best chance of success.
Easter marks a key point in Year 5 11+ preparation, as students sit their first formal mock test just before the holiday. This provides invaluable experience under exam conditions and highlights areas that need focus. These results are shared with parents before Easter, offering an opportunity to address them during the break. In addition to optional weekly booster sessions in-school over Easter, each child receives a login for CGP 11+ online for further preparation at home.
During term time, children can attend optional after-school clubs in Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning, along with a Verbal Reasoning booster club on Tuesday mornings. Weekly drop-in clinics are also available at lunchtimes, where children can receive specialist help with any 11+ areas.
We believe success in the 11+ depends on collaboration between home and school. After additional mock tests in the Summer Term, results and areas for improvement are shared with parents. Resource suggestions for home use are provided, and teaching is tailored to meet each child’s specific needs.
Children can also opt to attend extra booster sessions during the May half-term and the long summer break, ensuring they stay engaged and prepared for the test at the start of Year 6.
