Are you considering the Gloucestershire Grammar School
test in 2024 or beyond for your child?

Make an appointment at Ashley Manor Prep where we will work with your child to formally assess their 11+ potential. We use nationally recognised standardised assessments that will give accurate data for you to take away about your child’s attainment. Detailed feedback will be given to parents highlighting strengths and areas for development.
All assessments are free of charge and are open for children currently in Year 2-5 from any school.  Please contact 11plus@ashleymanorprep.co.uk for more details.

Easter is the point where 11+ preparation goes up a gear for Year 5! They sit their first formal mock test just before Easter, which gives them invaluable experience of working under exam conditions. It also highlights immediate areas for focus and these are shared with parents before the Easter holiday so that families have the option of tackling them during the break. As well as optional weekly booster sessions in-school over Easter, each child has a login for CGP 11+ online, enabling them to practise at home.

In the Summer term, as well as the pre-existing optional after-school clubs in Non-Verbal Reasoning and 11+ Maths, children can opt in to an 8am Vocabulary/Reading club and weekly drop-in clinics at lunchtime, where they receive specialist help with any 11+ related areas. This is particularly important this year due to the change in test provider in Gloucestershire from CEM to GL.

We believe that the key to 11+ success is collaboration between home and school and therefore, after the three further mock tests this term, results and areas for improvement are shared with parents. Ideas for resources are provided for use at home and teaching is tailored towards the specific areas of need for the cohort.

Children can choose to attend additional booster sessions during May half-term and during the long summer break. These are important for keeping the children ‘simmering’, ready for the test at the very start of Year 6.
