Peripatetic Piano Teacher

Ashley Manor Preparatory School is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Peripatetic Piano Teacher to provide individual piano tuition to pupils aged 5–11 years.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished musician with excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children. They will demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate pupils of all abilities, fostering musical development and enjoyment through high-quality, engaging lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one piano tuition for pupils aged 5–11 during the school day.
  • Prepare pupils for internal performances, examinations, and concerts where appropriate.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and the Director of Music regarding pupil progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and lesson scheduling.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in teaching piano to primary-aged pupils.
  • A thorough knowledge of appropriate teaching methods and repertoire.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider Music Department.
  • Relevant music and/or teaching qualifications, or equivalent professional experience.

Contract Details

  • Position: Self-employed, peripatetic role.
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Hours: Part-time, during school hours.
  • Location: Ashley Manor Preparatory School.
